Your weight sounds fine to me. You don't sound overweight.

The word "overweight" means different things to different people, so the answer to your question is somewhat subjective. That being said, one way you can assess a healthy body weight for your height is by calculating your Body Mass Index (BMI). You can find calculators all over the internet. One such example is at:
http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/
Given your height and weight, your BMI is 25.1, which is just on the borderline of being considered "overweight". That being said, the BMI calculator doesn't take into account the type of weight you carry (ie, whether most of your weight comes from fat or muscle). Since muscle weighs more than fat, you could be very muscular and fit, and your BMI could still indicate that you're "overweight". BMI also doesn't consider whether you have a large or small body frame. So, like I said, it's all subjective.
I've struggled with my weight all my life, so I know exactly how you feel regarding your weight, but the truth is that what's more important than the number on the scale is how healthy of a life you live. Do you exercise? Do you eat a balanced and nutritious diet? Do you get enough sleep? Is your blood pressure and cholesterol within the normal range? If so, then the number on the scale may not be indicative of your overall health. I've known plenty of "overweight" people who live far healthier lifestyles than their "skinny" counterparts.
If you do feel like you need to lose some weight, the only proven way is by burning more calories than you consume each day. There are lots of different types of diets out there, so try and find one that fits your lifestyle. I know lots of people who've had success on a Weight Watchers type of diet (counting calories/points per day), whereas I prefer a South Beach type diet (where you eat lots of fresh produce, lean protein, and whole grains). Stay away from anything that severely restricts the foods you can and cannot eat (such as liquid diets, Atkins, vegan, etc). They're too hard to stick with in the long run. And DEFINITELY stay away from diet pills and drugs.
Once you find a diet that fits your lifestyle, try and incorporate more exercise into your daily routine. The best way is to find exercise that you actually enjoy doing. Is there a particular sport that you enjoy? Try out for the team, or find others who enjoy the same sport and play recreationally. If you love the outdoors, go hiking, walking, running, biking, kayaking, swimming, etc. Or, there are plenty of other options at a typical gym- treadmills, ellipticals, weights, and tons of fun group fitness classes. Find what works for you, and you'll find yourself getting slimmer and slimmer.
Oh, and one last thought (sorry, I know this is long)- don’t listen to those idiots calling you fat. The only reason they pick at you is because they’re insecure themselves. Hold your head high because you’re beautiful, no matter what anybody else says.

Overweight, maybe a little bit, but weight isn't the gauge of health or fitness. How much body fat versus muscle is. What the scale says is irrelevant. I am sure I could find females in your age bracket who weight that much and are very fit and very lean, and some that are a bit pudgy. Exercise. Start weight training and get more exercise overall. The weights will trim and tighten your body very, very quickly. Then use the mirror as your guide, not the scale.

you are just barely out of the healthy BMI range. Your BMI is 25.1 and the healthy range is 18.5-24.9. you should weigh anywhere between 118-159 lbs. BMI is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women.
to lose the 1 pound you need to get back in the healthy range i would watch your portion sizes, eat less fatty foods like fries and chips, eat more veggies, and eat more fruits. fruit can often be a great refreshing treat because it is enough natural sugar to satisfy your sugar cravings, but it is also stuffed with vitamins and minerals. if you ever have the urge to eat some ice cream, i would keep a few frozen yogurts in the freezer. i usually keep about 5 single serving containers of yogurt, such as Yoplait, in the freezer at a time.
if you want to keep an eye on your BMI go to http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/.
the most important thing to remember is that your body is yours and you must love it whatever shape it is. love your body!

i am 5 foot 7 and i am 22, and i weigh 138, and my doctor said that i should be between 125-135. So with you being younger, you should be around that weight or lower. When i was 15 i was 5'7 and around 120..you are very overweight and need to hit the gym or something. Being that tall, you have a lot of room to put all your extra fat..so you shouldn't be having any trouble. When you get older its harder to loose weight, i noticed when i turned 21 it got a lot harder, but when i was your age i ate burger king and donuts all the time and i was OK. You need to work at it, good luck.

It might be a bit higher than average for your age, but it is not technically overweight. Just try to maintain your weight or you could lose a few pounds if you like, but don't go overboard. You are not fat. HTH : )
