I feel like some mystries in Indian team. Jaffer and D Karthik were good openers in last innings, but in the secand innings they change them to Jaffer and Virender Sehwag. Why did they change like that???

indian thinktank was thinking that they need quick runs so that they can set a stiff target to southafrican just an hour before the end of the day. sehwag was expected to make runs at very good strike rate on this indian like easy pitch
but the move backfired
not only sehwag got out, but even others could not cash in
but that is the way cricket is, the game of glorious uncertaintities

India wanted some quick runs in the top of the order before spinner comes in to bowl with a view to post a good score and try to win the game. Since Sehwag had scored 40 odd runs in the first innings, team management thought that he has regained him form and made him to open as they thought that if he can bat for about an hour, team can get some quick runs. However, this move misfired and has proved to be disasterous.

Let me tell you why they sent sehwag as a opener u knw the first day of pitch was very flat so it really suits the Indian batsmen & moreover sehwag was & is really good in this kind of pitch so dravid & coach might have planned to send sehwag to score quickly as many as possible...but it didnt happnd this might b the is the only reason why they would have sent sehwag as a opener.

Since Greg took over as the coach logic has deserted the team india. I can't imagine that Sahwag would go and request that he be sent as an opener considering his present form so it is logical to think that the captain and the coach thought that let him go and hit a double ton and rest all other batsmen!!!

In that SL’s Aus tour (1995) lot of dirty things happened against SL. Sri Lankan team was accused for ball tampering; Jayasuriya was accused for using a graphic bat. All were proven fake later. Many umpire decisions went against SL which cost their victory in the world series. Lot of infield controversies between the teams such as Mcgrath calling Jaysuriya a black monkey which was mentioned in Roshan Mahanama's book. Though Mcgrath refused it, considering the hate campaign went against SL, his name calling on Sanath should be true.

Main reason for the indian teams losses. they dont stick to a plan, they keep on changing their plans which they dont have. the result in front of you. I agree probably jaffar and kartik would have done better opening second innings
