I've been learning to play guitar with a "play guitar with The Beatles" book and I especially like playing the bluesy lead on Day Tripper, I Feel Fine and Get Back. I want to find some stuff to play that uses the same kind of style... anyone have any suggestions...?

Get some books of Oasis songs

theryre heavily influenced by the beatles and are much more mordern and cool to play on guitar- yet just as easy. Simple melodic lead guitar too that you will enjoy.

goto amazon.com / co.uk and have a look! As ur still a relatively new learner- I suggest buying a book that comes with a cd so you can listen to the rythms, and also you get backing tracks which in turn gives u valuable "jamming" experience as if you are really playing with other musicians- will also help improve your time keeping!

after that, move on to Joe Satriani and George Benson:)))

Keep on rockin!

Look for tabs on the internet by Stuart Adamson/Big Country.

Not a lot of people are aware of what a great musician Stuart Adamson was...and that their one hit "In A Big Country" was, in fact, not their best sound.

Look for songs off of the album Driving To Damascus...they're all great, especially the title track, for some of the coolest guitar rifts ever played.

Edit: and if you listen closely, it has a similar guitar sound and time to most of The Beatles during their early days.

Subscribe to Guitar Player or such, they all have verious lessons by famous (though not necessarily only the best) guitarists. My advice is to drop tabs and learn to pick stuff by ear, in combo with musical theory because it helps you recognize progressions and predict patterns. Then listen to B.B. King becuse there's no better blues guitar known to mankind.

You might want to try Joe Walsh or some of the more "rock" Eagles stuff like "Rocky Mountain High"
