Any icelandic people out there? I've always wanted to visit and my family wants to go somewhere on spring break (starting march 20)

Obviously Lisbon, the other main choice on the table, would be warmer for the children, but I know my father would love the rugged landscapes of iceland. (and so would I)

It could still be really cold in late March. By march the days are getting longer again but it can still be very cold. However the winter has been quite warm so far so maybe you'll be lucky. Actually March and April are hard to predict, sometimes it's snowing but sometimes it's really warm and lovely.

I would rather recommend June or July. By then the days are really long and you get to experience midnight sunshine. Also it's easier to travel in the summer. It would be really sad for you to come here and then be trapped in Reykjavik because of the weather.

The nature here is very extreme and every year tourists (and Icelanders) have accidents or get lost in the highlands. This is of course more dangerous when it's cold. So be very careful when you travel.

Iceland is a beautiful country and the nature is really unique. I'm sure you'd love it. I hope March will be good ... but like I said it's really hard to predict. :)
