I like HP's they are normally pretty easy. Typically you just open the LID of the unit and it will center the ink catridges. most of the time, you just have to flip the old cartridge forward and pull it out.

Then you open your new cartridge and remove the tape. Put it down in the slot and flip it back into the same position as the first one. Then close the LID.

Some of the new HP units will automatically notice the change in the cartridge and prompt you to run alignments, etc. If not, you can usually go into the printer and kick one off. I have not seen too many that are off too much but, each machine is unique.

You cannot install a black and white cartridge in your printer. The paper is white, and the cartridge is black. To install a black printer cartridge follow the instruction either in your manual or on the machine, usually it's a easy pop out, pop in situation.

Thanks for the model and type, there's only about 50 different HP printers on the market.

If you do not have the user guide, go to www.hp.com and obtain one there under the Support section.
