I have a condenser dryer and it tends to steam up the kitchen a lot, even though the water is being collected in a tray for emptying somehow there's a lot of warm air still being generated that's got to go somewhere - on the other hand I didn't have any room next to a wall to get a vent out of so the condenser is more handy in that respect.

i prefer a condenser dryer because you can put it where ever you like in your kitchen or any other room you prefer if you want it out of the way, it takes a lot of drying clothes before the water full indicator comes on and its only a 2 second job to empty the water container. with a vent one you have to make sure the dryers near a window for the vent to go through.

Our condenser dryer overheated, the wiring melted and almost caused a kitchen fire. Our older vent dryer just rumbles on and on. The vent seems to be a cooler as well.

A condenser you have keep emptying the bit that collects the water.
The vented ones you have to have some way of putting the vent outside, ie through a window or getting a special hole made in your wall etc.

the advantages of a conventional tumble dryer is price ..the condenser type is easy to install and a big advantage in winter is they make a lot of heat to warm the room .. but you do have to empty the chamber ..the heat is not so good in summer ..but then you can all ways dry them outside
