I would like to get motivated on cleaning my house, getting a job or going back to school, but I suffer from sever sciatica & scoliosis. As far as I know the only treatment for this is surgery, and seeing a chiropractor (which I can't afford.) I have tons of plans, goals, and dreams for my future. I have 4 years of college education behind me, but how can I accommodate my painful situation to create an extraordinary life? I can't sit, stand, move, or lay down without being in terrible pain. Is there any hope left for me? I have no job, no support, no friends, no insurance, and to make it even better I'm not eligible for disability. What can I do to insure a bright future? I'm about to turn 25 in March and don't want to see my life waste away in front of me. Is there anyone that has a good suggestion, or a new fresh idea? Please help!

a well-explained thought-out question, and a difficult one to answer.
forgive me if this seems a little long-winded or vague, but in my opinion, life is all about getting what you want out of it. everyone has different requirements for happiness. for example, if a man decides he wants to be a garbageman, and he does it his whole life, and is happy, i consider that a well-lived, fulfilling life. if someone wants nothing more than to eat, sleep, breathe, and maybe share a bottle with a friend now and again, and become a homeless drifter, that's ok too, as long as they're happy, and not ruining life for anyone else.
in your case, you have a physical condition that comes into play, so you'll have to decide what you want out of life, and then decide how you can make it happen despite challenges. in other words, don't lose hope. inner strength can and WILL get you through this.
it sounds to me that an important step on the road to happiness for you is eliminating your pain. if the only ways to do this are either surgery or chiropractic help, then it seems you need to find a way to make one or the other happen. are you able to use a wheelchair without too much pain? i know that's just another expense, but if you're able to hold a job, then you can get insurance to help cover your medical expenses, and the workplace is always a great place to meet people, and give yourself a sense of doing SOMETHING, even if it is only a temporary position.
in short: dont give up hope, people have overcome obstacles equal to and likely greather than yours to live happy, bright lives. (not to belittle your condition - i have friends with similar situations and i realize how it can be.)

Ok, don't listen to Here2Share, he is a lifeless loser. First, get off the computer... go do something right now, stop typing questions to a bunch of people you don't know. You have a degree use it. Get a job with some good healthcare and start up some therapy. You need to be strong and deal with the pain for a while until you can get some medical treatment, dig deep and pull the strength out of you... I was injured horribly in Iraq 2 years ago so I feel your pain, I was in the Marine Corps and they tell you to dig deep, forget the pain, it is just weakness leaving the body... get out find yourself a nice man to help you and guide you through all of this. Go and start a new life, be strong, and you will win... You need to be active and happy or you will never get over this, it's called free will over your mind, get over the pain and live as if you didn't have it, or you will be typing questions to strangers the rest of your life...

First off, a few websites to look at. Maybe what they have can help, maybe not. It is worth a look at least.
http://www.losethebackpain.com/ppc/cure-sciatica.htm?gclid=COyKurnXyYkCFQE6gQod8VasNA
http://www.flacupuncture.com/?source=google&gclid=CN76ouDXyYkCFQkSgQodoEeqMg
http://www.avoidtheknife.com/?gclid=CLSEoOzXyYkCFRw3gQodnxp5Lw
One of the sites listed above is for accupuncture treatment. It's a little bit different from conventional means, but I can attest that it does work for what you go there for. I have personally had accupuncture treatment for hearing loss. My mom has had it for numerous join disorders.
The second thing I would say to take a look at is to find a non-conventional doctor and get a full allergy workup. A good portion of nervous system related problems are due to heavy metal allergies. Most allergists wont even test for heavy metal allergies, but if you find one that does it, it can mean a world of difference. It may point to things such as soap, shampoo, mouthwash, toothpaste, bottle water and even more that may be affecting you.
Next, I would say to look into both natural eating and holistic healing methods for treating it. With the natural eating method, you avoid things that cause your body problems from eating it - such as excessive salt, and provide yourself with extra vitamins and minerals that you are probably missing from your diet. The holistic healing method sometimes also involves herbs and vitamins, and often also involves meditation techniques as well. Here are a few websites offering natural and holistic cures:

http://www.mothernature.com/Library/Bookshelf/Books/21/186.cfm
http://www.andinia.com/and_medicina_medicine_curas_cures_tratamientos_treatments_ciatica_sciaticaen.shtml
Finally, remember to exercise. As hard as it is, moving around with exercise does help the joints and does help toward long term recovery efforts. Here is a medical website with some tips on how to properly exercise:
http://www.spine-health.com/topics/conserv/sciaex/sciaex01.html
Hopefully one or more of these things will help you out. If you find a treatment that you want to try, dont give up on the costs for it, try to be inventive in getting people to donate money to you to help pay for it, or ask the doctors if they know what you can do or go to for assistance.
Good luck!

Pray.. is the first thing. .Something will come up. You may want to get some jobs that you don't need to move so much. Part time perhaps.
For one thing, if you can afford not to go to college, find something light to do. Or you can study online. I say, if you have money, fix your health first before anything. But if you don't you will have to go to some sort of help from the government or social service program
Good luck!
