I finished my degree last July and realised I still had no idea what to do, so I went back to what I knew best - studying. I started my MA in Feb 2006 and it's is really good, so much better than my degree (well in interest/studying/more fulfilling but the in the social side as it's not as it is more time consuming). Studying for my MA works for me as, although I still have to work four days a week in a similar job to you, I have my studying to take my mind off work when I'm not there.

You say not many jobs appeal to you, but look into the ones that do, you may not get them straight away but you could look at volunteering at first, even if it is one day a week as it will break up the monotony of your 9-5 sales and give you something to focus on.

Or if all else fails, safe up your cash from the sales job and go travelling for a few months, that way you can forget about everything and focus on a new job when you get back, but forget about it whilst you're away.

Good luck, I know it sucks finishing uni but I hope you find something that helps you to achieve what you want!

Maybe try putting yourself in a different environment at the weekends, mix with different people to find out what they do and see who inspires you.

May be right down a few words that appeal to you and see if you can identify any work areas that suggest these words

first thing I would say is realise you are not depressed. Maybe pissed off and fed up, yes. If you were really truely depressed you would not be in work and you would be incapable of changing jobs. saying you are depressed just because you don't like your job makes you seem like an ungrateful and self-centrered new grad who expects it all TODAY. But i'm sure you are not like that.

There are not many jobs that apeal to many people. Its a fact of life. Most people hate thier jobs. It took me 20 years to get into any job i thought was ok, and that only happened because i'd got a load of money that allows me to choose what i do.

Hello I feel for you I studied the Arts in College and I have my Diploma for 3 yrs now and I am stuck cold calling people.Recruitment agencies are **** to they pin point you to your last job so its difficult to launch into something link ed with your course as you can't build the experience up and this can be very depressing you set a goal for yourself to complete college which you did and now you have a further challenge.Don't give up whatever you do and if it gets to much try travel because sometimes leaving your country opens up employment possibilities you would not get at home, also don't let recruitment agencies bully you write to companies yourself and ring and remember to be positive you will get there a famous Irish saying is "If there is a will there is a way".

At least your recognising your not happy in your current job. Many people go through their lives stuck in jobs they don't like. At least you are having the courage to realize you don't want to be stuck in job you don't like... and have the urge to consider new employment areas. You can do what you want... life is yours... whatever job makes you happy and excited and fullfilled. Its not all about the money.

Try getting a job thats linked to your degree perhaps? If you told us what your degree is in it may help.
