why movie stars more famous than scientists?

my best guess would be to say that most narrow minded americans only care about the lastest in enterainment, not scientific breakthroughs that could shape their everyday lives

Because the scientists are not on television and in movies for the general public to see day in and day out. I am sure if they got themselves put on the cover of every major magazine for about a year, then they, too, would be just as famous.

Scientists do not have weekend showings at 7 & 9 pm .

Because people are more interested in amusing parts of the life and not in these that are really hard to improve and in these that scientist work on.
I think that this is a same because too many people base their lives on cinema and celebrities...

becuase watching tv and listening to the radio are a daily part of most Americans lives, they entertain us. We don't really see or hear about scientists.

Movie stars are everywhere. TV, movies, magazines, concerts, commercials, etc.

Scientists are all holed up in a lab working on an experiment or computing something.

Because like Frankenstein's creator, society has created a monster machine called Hollywood and now we can't control the over spill! It's sad.

Because our culture is screwed up. Our values are screwed up. Or, one theory of mine is, movie stars are more like modern day carnival people--bearded ladies, etc....people have more of a "freak show" type of fascination with them.
