right now they are
They Saints came off a losing season , recruited many new players, (half of their team is new players) and turned to be a winning team in one year.Reggie Bush and the Saints donated money to New Orleans and people devestated by the storm. The Saints help bring economy to New Orleans, who is still devestated from the storm. The Saints doesn't need a pity party b/c they did it all on their own . No one gave that team a bye in the playoffs or the NFC South championship, they earned it . They help people who come from New Orleans feel proud and gives them something to smile about . This team deserves 2 be America's team

New Orleans might not me all of America's team, but they have the majority about now. They represent the typically American dream story. We went from Katrina to the Saints having an amazing season. Yes, tickets are too much for homeless people to afford, but many of those people were relocated to Houston where they have been able to find opportunity. For those that died, they are tributes to them all around the city. And the ones that are still NOLA locals may not be able to afford tickets, but the increase in tourism is helping them. More people coming back to visit means more people generous enough to donate money. Living in New Orleans, I know there are many places these people can go for help, but many chose not too. The Saints have been the Louisiana favorite for years (obviously) and its their time to catch a break and do well. They are getting everything they worked so hard to get, so for at least this year, they deserve to be America's team. They are helping to bring support and hope to those many people that lost their loved ones and all their possessions. I think they are a great team and like their name describes, they are New Orleans' saints!

Think about it. The Superdome could have been turned into a semi-permanent shelter. Many of Katrina's victims are still displaced around the country, not much better off than they were after the tragedy. Besides the few charity tickets given to refugees, the stadium's seats are filled with people who did not suffer from Katrina. This people can afford high priced tickets and half of them are responsible for refusing refugees access to their nearby suburbs.
This team is not the 2001 Patriots. That team symbolized a nation coming together and America at its best. This team symbolizes apathy and governmental incompetency. Why should the government of N. O. benefit from a franchise? So they can make the French Quarters bigger? the biggest icon of debauchery in the U.S. Or maybe they can use the money to build more low income houses in a place scientist have been calling a danger zone for more than three decades.
I think Houston was the biggest help. They could share like the Jets/Giants

Sorry guys, Dallas is, was, and always be Americas team. We all like winners and Big D, while not always at their best, are winners if you look at NFL history. 8 Superbowl trips, 5 wins, countless play off appearances. Just what has N.O. done in it's history?

No they are not. The spotlight might be most heaviest on them this year due to the disaster and the unexpected improvement of the team, but they are nothing more than a feel-good story. America's team has always been, and will continue to be, the Dallas Cowboys.
