girl hip-hop has been long dead and i truly think there is no bringing it back there are a select few rappers out there that care and rap about more than, bling, hoes, and money. and those are the ones i listen to. but the ones that have something to truly say are far and few between. i personally think that majority of the rappers are going for what sells and not for what they truly think nor feel. for example.....alot of ludacris earlier stuff the underground before he became famous he was deep and meaning full but as soon as he hit it big time he fell in the trap that is now known as hip-hop. the same could go for busta.

Okay so I am not the spokes person for hip hop obviously but I hear where you are coming from. This is not just a problem in the rap genre such materialism, chauvinism, and capitalism is also displayed in rock music today. Nothing will ever replace the music from the late 60's and 70's. I was not even born then but I still have good taste. Some of the early 90's stuff was good but then it seems we reverted back to the 80's materialistic view of the world. Where did the feeling and emotion go? Now it is all about money, whores, players, sex and selling drugs in every genre. Even Country music is going down the tube. (It was always boring anyway though) We need art, passion, emotion, and feeling, Lyrics that are important to us all.

It's not dead but the artists who are trying to put out positive music are not getting airplay or any support from the community. As long as the community keeps buying the garbage rap, it will continue to dominate the airwaves.

In the end, it is up to us to change the face of hip-hop. There are good rap artists - tons of them. But we never hear about them because the mentality of the majority of the inner city community enjoys music that glorifies drugs, violence and the degradation of women. The idiots singing about biatches, hoes and clothes don't give a damn because the labels keep signing checks.

I have lost interest in hip hop. I wouldnt say it's dead. Its just too um..commercial. Artists are no longer doing what they want..but whats "hot" rite now or what the record companies need to sell records.
