my husband and I are officially trying to get pregnant again ( we have a 4 year old). We had sex day 13 and 14 (28 day cycle). Day 13 I noticed the 'egg white' consistancy just barely starting and more on day 14. But what's driving me up the wall is now I'm on day 16 of my cycle and I still have the "egg white" discharge!!! Should we have waited? We don't have time to have sex every day or every other day w/ a 4 year old running around. But I also know that sperm can live up to 3 days right?? So do you think it's still possible we could have conceived? My periods are always regular (every 28 days), but last month I think I stressed myself out hoping I could be pregnant and had a 31 day cycle!! I've been crampy the past 2 days, and very tired after sleeping 8 hours...and a bit moody...could it be all in my head? Please I need some advise before I drive myself crazy!! Especially since I have to wait till my missed periond...2 more weeks to go..AHHH!!

First of all, you need to chill. Stress is never conducive to having a child. Your body isn't going to be as willing to produce another human being if it's just going to wind up in a stressful situation. Secondly, I have a five-year-old daughter, and when I do have boyfriends, I do manage to have sex every day. It's an Awesome Activity. You simply wait until your child's in bed and asleep, go to the other room, put on some music, and lock the door. This can also be done early in the morning. Or you can sneak in a quicky while they're watching TV. Sex should be fun, not some job you're doing. And the less you think of it as sex-for-baby and the more you think of it as sex-for-I-enjoy-it-and-love-my-hubby, the more likely you will be to conceive. The main thing is to just relax. It'll happen.

Sperm can live up to 6 days in fertile mucus. You should notice wetness about 6 days before you ovulate--your first fertile day. It's healthy that you are still having egg-white discharge. You can still have sex a few more times if you and your husband have that option, but also know that you could still become pregnant on this cycle because of timing already. However, your chances of pregnancy increase the closer to your actual day of ovulation.
It's way too early to have any signs of pregnancy. A new baby doesn't implant into the mother's womb until about 6 days or so after fertilization at the earliest---and you may not have even ovulated yet (which is a must before fertilization can happen!) Don't stress out too much...it IS supposed to be fun, you know;)
Good luck and God bless!

You should really have sex up until you stop seeing the egg white mucus. They say that the last day you have it is when you're most likely ovulating. But you are right - actually the sperm can live for up to 5 days in fertile cervical mucus. As for the crampy feeling you've been having that is most likely from the ovulation. If you're only on day 16 it would be too early to have any pregnancy symptoms, so it is probably ovulation cramping that you're feeling. Try and fit another time of sex in. It doesn't have to be anything dramatic - just take 5 minutes and get the sperm in there if you can. You've still got good chances though if you ovulate today or in the next few days. Best wishes to you!

Wow, thats amazing. To me I think its great, if it was for different reasons. But regardless of being poor or ugly [ so you say ]. Maybe it just ain't your time. I least you know you have no STD's (:-). I think the main things you should be thinking about is, ARE YOU WERE YOU WANT TO BE IN LIFE? I mean, get you in order, go out and explore, travel [ there's ways to do so if you look hard, even tho you may not have a lot of money ] The woman of your dreams will come, and more then so she will be just like you. You will see. NO SWEAT. Your on the right path.

It will happen when its supposed to happen, so just relax and enjoy it. I would say that if you just shoot for trying to have sex every other day during your fertile week then you should have no problem getting pregnant! If this month it doesn't happen (but I have a good feeling you are) then maybe start charting your bbt and taking some home ovulation tests so you can pin point when in your cycle you ovulate and can plan accordingly! The egg white is completely normal to last a few days! Just enjoy it and it will happen! Good Luck and lots of baby dust to you!

Try this method it worked perfectly for us.... Buy an ovulation predictor kit and start testing and follow the directions, test every single day and as soon as you have a positive test, have sex, then keep testing everyday and have sex every time you have a positive test which should be 3-4 days in a row approximately. After 10 years of trying, we tried this method and it worked the very first month we tried it.

My biggest piece of advice is to relax. Your body will pick up on the stress and the energy you're putting out there. Consider a fertility tester that you can get at the pharmacy and enjoy making a baby! And remember your wonderful 4 year old. Go into it with the mindset that it would be great to have a baby, but if it didn't happen, you guys are already happy parents. Good luck!

Ummm you can find 15 minutes every other day to have sex. I have a 10 month old and if hubby and I put our minds to it, we can manage to have sex every day when he has 3-4 days off. (He works a crazy schedule sometimes ten 12-14hour shifts in a row.)

My baby also co-sleeps and we still find the time and place.

You need to decide that your relationship with your husband, and your private time is important.
