I never did, but I have to share this. I doubt many have been "warped" by phrases such as what was/is found in romance novels.
That said however, many emotions can be evoked, and those that are latent, repressed, even suspected lost, can be rediscovered, even by people such as my mother, who lived to be 84 and had crates full of well read romance novels.
I seriously doubt anyone of any age, or mindset, has been influenced to the extreme by soft cover books exhibiting modeled images of "Fabio" as the Lover of anyones dreaming.

No, the majority of books I read are romance. When I was younger I wished I could find a guy like the one in them and be treated that way but I knew that unfortunately that would never happen. Sure there are good guys out there but even they would not do some of the things that happen in these novels.

I've never read one, though I do know that my sister started reading them at a fairly early age (like 14) and has some rather impractical and unrealistic expectations of romance and love now (25 years later).
I think that they affect different people different ways, so I would not assert that what has happened with my sister would happen with anyone else.

I'm 21 and I read romance novels now! I love reading Nicholas Sparks books, they're so sweet. And yes it did lol. They romances are so nice in the books but unfortunately it doesn't always happen in real life.

ABSOLUTELY NOT
Of course you would have to read way more than one novel to make sure you get the "whole" of the love scene and not from one writter either. That is when you WARP when you read only one artist and that singular point of view. READ ON

I have read one or two but stopped. My future husband has enough expected of him. He doesn't need to compete with a man on a white horse that has rippling muscles and have cured cancer whiling sing a love song and playing guitar with roses.

I think movies like Cinderella provide unrealistic expectations for girls; that they all should expect a Prince Charming and real life is not like that.

No.You just need to give up the idea that there is 'someone out there made specially for you.' People are not perfect.Just accept that and enjoy the books.
