I have a client who wants to set up a three monitor set up. I'm familiar with dual monitors, but how does he set up three monitors? Does he need a new graphics card from ATI and/or Nvidia? thanks.

The three monitors are one big "desktop" area as opposed to three mirrors.

Set up three the same way you set up two, but you use two video cards instead of one.

Depends on the PC.
Dell has a Corporate PC with a DVI output as well as a Built in Video output.
The splitter on the DVI will take a signal out to two PCs. And just add in the Third PC on the Motherboard Video.
Alternatively, use a DVI output to a Splitter Box that has Three outlets. The cost is about 110 US Dollars, and then you can plug in three Monitors with no Trouble. Check out Lindy.com for the best cable and splitter boxes. Or Compusa for the cheapest ( other than Amazon).

Yes new PC and VGA cards are needed as the monitors may interface with slightly different bus speeds which may confuse the CPU.

Consult a technician in your area on what best cards to use for your motherboard

Your computing gadget is definetely possible* yet not perfect*. in case you intend on multi-moniter demonstrate, i might want to extremely reccomend making an investment into the GTX-580, and an i7-severe. 5 MONITERS?! your i5 will overclock so quick and your gtx 560 will overheat.
