There is this awful woman that works in my office, She belittles people and tries to order them around because she once was some kind of manager, they shut her side of the company down, and now she is just a department assistant, but she is driving me crazy with her "i'm better than everyone else" attitude. What can I do to get her back. (today she embarassed me infront of her whole department)

Act like she does to her...boss her around. Example...I have this co-worker that must have Adult ADD or something and he is always at my desk every 5 minutes "What you doing?, what's that..who's on the phone" So I just started doing the same to him and bother him all the time being nosy and he didn't like it so he stayed away from me.

Why get her back? Why not spend a while trying to understand how she must feel? She was a manager, and now she's been demoted. That can't be fun.

Be nice to her, even if it hurts.

Spending time getting back at her only makes the office situation worse.

Be super nice to her~ Have compassion for her attitude. We have all been there. Just try to see it from her point of view and try to understand why she is the way. Then just let it go. Its not your problem. It's hers. No need to clutter your head with her issues.

First, you need to stop caring about what this woman thinks or says. That will make it easier to snap back at her...especially if she has no authority over you.

Try to find out if she is really more knowledgable than you. If she is; due to experiences, it would be advicable to learn more from her. If she is not really better, things would be very simple - just ignore her!
