Besides decision making abilities? Or rational thought processes? All children should learn how to think critically, teaching them how to make decisions is far more useful than telling them what they should do.

As a process that occurs through raising your children, not as a goal. I would also say that critical thinking is better taught closer to adulthood so that during the developmental stages a child learns security and can use this to grow from. Too young and there will be uncertainty and a lack of trust.
Assuming this is a given. Absolutely there is a benefit. This becomes a backbone for making better decisions and as we all know life really is a buch of choices

Of course, there are many benefits of learning critical thinking even in our kids. This will help them see things more than what is just outside them. They will understand more on how are things should be done logically, so even with their young minds they will opt to do things correctly because there is a reason for their every action.
