Why? I think they are a point hungry team that is going to make the playoffs. Once they get in they can play with any team game for game. Wouldn't it be nice to see a couple of line changes to see maybe Drury on a line with Max and Pominville? Just a thought...

The Anaheim Ducks are the favorites and my pick to win the cup. Right now they have 2 of the top 3 Dmen in the whole NHL and good overall depth at that position. They have all types of forwards that can score in Penner, Kunitz, Getzlaf, Perry, Selanne and Mcdonald. There goalie is playing at his top form right now and has lead a worse Anaheim Ducks team to the final. Most importantly though is that they are playing as a team and they have great chemistry.

My pick for this years cup is the Buffalo Sabres. We need the cup so badly right now, especially with an embarassingly bad football team. Buffalo is the most electrifying team in the NHL, especially in the last five years. With a cast of Briere, Vanek, Drury, Kotalik, Pomminville, Afinegenov, Cambell, and Miller(Time), how can we really lose it? Were better than any team out there right now. Itll be Buffalo Vs. Anaheim in the finals, and i predict the Sabres will win it in 5.

What you have to watch for are teams that begin to develop depth on all four forward lines in addition to having a top tier goaltender.

I'm suspicious of Miller as Buffalo's goaltender, but that team is four lines deep. Anaheim looked deep until a recent stretch of injuries. Ottawa's coaching sucks, so despite their depth, you can write them off.

There's no clear favorite right now. Stanley Cup winners tend to catch lightning in a bottle when Spring rolls around. We're in the first week of January. It's still too early to tell.

I had picked the Ducks before the season started and I still think they will.

I picked them because they are strong all around...good scoring capability, solid defense and 2 great goalies

Even with Giguere and Pronger out they are set up to continue to be a solid team

Now...who do I want to win? The Leafs and not all Leaf fans are bad :)
