I have been having pain during intercourse for about two months. Is this normal. I had a pap smear just a couple months ago and it was normal. But it seems as of late, I have been experiencing a bit of pain. I did have a c-section with my daugther a year ago. Do you think this may have something to do with it?

No- this is not normal. There are many reasons for pain during intercouse including vaginismus, infection, endometriosis, PID, and injuries. It could also be hormonal, or not enough lubrication is used. Your best bet is to see your doctor for an exam, to determine exactly what is going on. You can read more here

Definitely not normal, but perhaps not serious.

First and foremost you should report this to your doctor.

Are you using a hormone-based method of birth control? I had a similar problem when I was on depo.

You should also consider whether the pain exists or is different in different positions. That can help your doctor determine the cause, along with a description of the pain (stabbing, throbbing, etc.) and where you feel it.

Pain during intercourse is not normal. Is it sharp pain? Do you still experience pain when intercourse is over?
Did you have pain before your c-section when you had sex? A c-section should not cause this pain.
Ask yourself these questions and then make another appointment with your gynecologist.
And good luck to you.

Hum, the c-section shouldn't have anything to do with it.. But it is possible that you have some scar tissue in there that is putting pressure and making it painful. I'd talk to your doctor about it, he may want to do a ultrasound to see if anything in there needs repairing.

It is not normal, and good luck in finding out what is wrong.
