Thanks a lot for the quick answers. I've always thought he was her stepfather because they don't look alike. I don't know why she would hate him that much... I mean, he is the "midnight cowboy" :)

He's her biological father. And they've had issues for awhile, part of which are because he cheated on her mother. Also, when she adopted the first child, he was the one who announced it to the press at a time when she was trying to keep quiet about it for the child's privacy. Plus, he went on someone's show and talked about how many "problems" she had and that he was just trying to help, but the whole thing had the ring of a Maury show. So she's been pretty pissed at him for quite awhile.

He's her biological father but they have a lot of issues that related back to her childhood from what I understand. But then they sorted things out but then when she adopted Maddox, some of these issues raised there heads again, because she was angry that he went on TV and discussed the fact that she was adopting a child, or something like that
