Depends how long you plan to have it for. 3 Series will hold its value a lot better.

Downside of the 3 series is that owning a BM is pretty uncool these days, as they have become a favourite with dorks everywhere.

If you're not worried about being uncool, you may find the 3 series a surprisingly cost-effective option...

The Golf is the best selling car in Europe and you have no problem getting any parts, service items are also very reasonable. The Fiesta is the best selling car in UK. The Golf has a shelf life of 3 to 5 years whereas the Fiesta is changed more regularly and is indeed approaching a change. The Golf interior and exterior quality is far better than the Ford , yes, far better ! The Ford is not in the same model class as the VW because the Golf rival is the Focus and the Fiesta rivals the Polo which according to the press, the Polo wins. TDI against ST, off the mark its the Ford, in gear about equal. The fuel economy stakes, the Golf wins hands down. Leaves you with cost price, you look and see what you can do with a dealer incentive as I cannot answer that one. Your hard earned £££ are safer with the Golf which has probably the strongest residual value in the medium size car market. Additionally, having just looked at Wikki, the Fiesta is built in Spain and Cologne so it can hardly be described as "Home produced" and is indeed an imported vehicle...just like the VW Golf !

Definitely the BMW...mainly because it depreciates very little in the first three years. Also, the BMW includes more gadgets and safety features than the other two. BMW uses special tools and repairs their own cars. I had a VW Jetta and received very little satisfaction and high prices for repairs. The Fiesta is cute, but it is an early ruster. It will disintegrate right before your eyes.

well i would go with the bmw 3 series, its more expensive but in the long run is worth it, is one of the best made cars, excellent quality, i own one, it has over 250,000 miles and still runs like a champ. i had a vw before and they have electrical problems, and the fiesta, is a ford, it will lose its value rapidly.

BMW serie3, but if you have not enough money to do so, purchase ford fiesta, but if again you don't have money to do so , purchase VW Golf V2.

NOTE:- VW Golf V2 is a very bad car, I recommend you not to buy this one, because this is like throwing money in a garbage bin or like tearing it and keeping it in fire.

New?

Not the Fester.

Depends what you want to do, I find the Golf more practical than the 3-series and it has more head and leg room in the front, but the 3-series handles better and is likely to last longer.

Odd choices.

If cost of ownership is your primary concern, the Ford would prevail. If driver satisfaction and resale factor heavily, forget the Ford. When it comes to driver's satisfaction, the German's have this category in the bag. If it were my choice, I'd pick the one that fit my family's needs the best (passenger comfort and utility). If it were strictly for ME to drive, I'd pick the one that fit my personality the best, in the color scheme I like, and with the major options I want.

VW are good for your money, however when repair time comes you will be paying a good amount of money. The safety on VW are good to because they have these 2 reinforcement bars on the side to help keep you safe, Plus they last forever. Good luck , I dont know about the other 2 cars.
