First we need to know if youa re talking about the tank fill & vents or just the oil burner supply line. Check with your local oil company or code enforcement officer to see if you can twin together oil tanks in your area. Some towns say you have to run separate fill & vent for each tank. If you can tie them together, you will need to run an oversized (usually 2") pipe from one tank to the other with the fill (usually 1-1/2") going into one tank and the vent (same size as the fill) coming out the other tank. That way they both fill at the same rate. If it is just the burner supply line, use a separate filter for each tank, and tie them together after the filters with a flared tee and run one line to the burner. Good luck,
Steve

Depends on if they are installed at the same level and are about the same height. If so, you can connect the discharge lines together without any valves (if desired) and run like that. When you fill, both tanks will fill at the same time, but only at the rate the connecting line can handle. If the tanks are at different levels, or have different heights the hookup would need to be more complicated.

When I was a child, we had two 250 gallon tanks for heating oil. My step father connected the two together with pipes coming out the front. They would joint together in a "T" and then the main line would run to the furnace. We had no problems at all.

drinks seek for his or her own point so if the tanks are tied mutually on the backside and vented acceptable, whilst crammed, the two tanks will fill gently. i might recomend 2 valves inbetween the tanks in case you ever might desire to do maintenance on certainly one of them. A tee with a valve on the two area of the feed pipe (commonly left open).
