Depending on the size of the store or the chain, you would probably have to make arrangements to meet with whoever is in charge of retail promotions or inventory. You would do this through a formal letter followed up by a phone call. In your meeting you will have to be able to prove that your product is something that someone would want to buy. If you sold your clothing at a flea market or over the internet, (and not to friends and family) that would show some degree of intrest in your clothing. You would also have to develop a compensation plan for the store so that they can make a profit for selling your merchandise. Lastly, you need some sort of policy for theft and damages and liability in the event that this were to occur. If you are attempting to get your foot in the door you will have to be willing to take the hit for the loss.
