I would think that anyone who is treated with love and caring and not brain washed into thinking their way is the only way that is right might make this world a little better place to live in. :) Good question!

Well I don't think just giving him extra hugs was the answer. You also have to factor his entire life and when he was born into the equation.

His family troubless did cause some problems to be born within him, but we also have to look into his ambitions.
At first he wanted to be a painter but his talents lay within architecture, but since he lacked the education fat lot of good that did him.

Frustrated and poor he began looking into anti-semite theories and people like Lanz von Liebenfels and Karl Lueger. That was a time (we still face it today sadly) where specific people were persecuted and hated just because they happen to be rich or in power.

Those times couldn't have come at a worse moment considering Austria's problems along with Germany's.
When World War I hit Europe, that only caused the problems to get much worse! Eventually Germany's economy falls down and hard. Once again people blame others in order to make scapegoats and since the anti-semitists were still around they kicked up a whirlind of excuses.

So your question, having merit for wanting to show love to even the most hated of men, is but one question we would have to ask about Hitler. There are many such as:

-What if Hitler DID make it as an architect?
-If he knew his true family's past would that have affected him?
-What if Germany WON WWI would that have factored into Hitler's rising to power?
-If Germany and Austria didn't have financial troubles would the anti-semitism have spread so terribly fast?

How do you know he wasn't treated with love? His early hatred for Jews came from his father losing his business to a Jew so it seems as if he cared for his family.

The man was mentally ill. No amount of love can fix that.

Maybe. There really is no way to know at this point, though.
