Yes it can happen early or really late in life. I have seen children as young as 10-12 with a few. And my self at 20 have a few but then there is my father and papa who didn't see a spec of grey until their 40's and 50's and still my papa is still salt and pepper at 80! It all depends on genetics and what you do to your body. Same with hair loss. The reason for your hair to be going grey is becausr the follicle has lost its pigment for color and no longer colors the hair but the follicle is still alive so is still growing the hair.

As a rule of thumb - most men and women go grey slowly - I have salt & pepper hair and I am 62 but I have a buddy who went gray within a 2 month period and he is 10 years younger than myself.

Nothing significant happened in that time period and from what he told me - It is common in his family for men in their 50s to go quickly grey. So I would guess it is a genetic issue

Grey hair? I've had grey hair since I was seventeen, but it has never got much worse than about 2% coverage (33 now). I've heard about people who go grey literally overnight though. I think it looks ok anyway, would never dye to hide it.

I believe so, the older you get the more likely to get grey. Not all people go grey though. You can always dye it.

existing hair cannot turn gray but you can start growing gray hair suddenly due to stress or illness

the hair suddenly turning gray or white due to fear is one of the older URBAN MYTHS or Old Wives Tales
