It took hubby and I over 18 months to become pregnant after getting off the depo shot. There are meds your OB/GYN can prescribe to get you ovulating again. Talk with her if you are not pregnant by May. Good luck and Baby Dust For You!!

It usually takes between a year and 18 months after your last shot for the hormones to get completely out of your system.

For example, I was on depo for a while, and my last shot was August 2004, and I got pregnant in October 2005.

I was on the Depo shot for two years when I finally got off of it. Everyone told me that I wouldn't be able to get pregnant for another two years, but I got pregnant after 4 or 5 months.

That's just one of those things that depends from person to person. There's no way to tell how long you'll have to wait before getting pregnant.

It may take several months before your cycle returns to normal. Ovulation usually returns within three to six months for most women; however it is possible that you may not have your cycle for 12 to 18 months after discontinuing the injections.
Pregnancy is possible when you stop using the birth control injections, but it may be delayed. This method of birth control is not recommended for someone who wants to get pregnant quickly after discontinuing use.

I've heard anywhere from 6 months to two years. However my sister was able to get pregnant one month after discontinuing the shot. Good luck. I will soon be doing what you are!

Took me 18 months. I found out that the shot had stopped my from ovulating. I had to take clomid to get oculation started again. I found that even though you get a regular period that doesn't mean that you ovulate. you can go for a blood test on teh 21st day of your cycle to see if you ovulated.
