I would say in some cases that is true. Nothing is free. When you get fooled into thinking that you're getting something for nothing, you end up giving almost everthing in return. Plus sometimes there was an alternative option that would have cost you a cheaper life lesson and you didn't take it!

Yes, sometimes it is true that you pay the most for the things that you get for free, because sometimes you'll find that really you get what pay for..so if you put out nothing, you'll get nothing in return.
