That really depends on the age of the people involved and their personalities and maturity levels.

Obviously, there would be a problem if the nine year difference was between say a 14 year old and a 23 year old. However, if the difference was between a couple who are both at least in their twenties, then it should just be a matter of how mature the younger one is and how compatible they are aside from age.

My husband and I are ten years apart, as were my parents. Hope this helps.

This is a tough question because there are two answers. I think if the two people are younger say 20 and 29 then that is a big difference because someone at 20 is thinking totally different about life and what they want in life then a 29 year old would be. If we are talking about an older couple say 30 and 39 then I think that is totally fine. Both people should know what they want in life and it should be along the same page. Marriage, Kids, a good job and home, etc....

Age difference matters when we are teenagers, but once we are grown and into our twenties, I think age becomes less important and it is more about the personalities of the two people involved and how much they have in common. My wife is 15 yrs older than me and we have a great relationship. The difference is that we have so many things in common and are best friends. Age is a state of mind.

It depends on how old you are. If you are say a teenager and he is an adult then yeah it matters. You are not mature enough for something like that. There are things you need to focus on first before you meet a man and wind up pregnant. (See my questions) However, if you are older (over 18) then there should be no problem with it. It is a matter of maturity and responsibility.

If the youngest person is at least 25 then I don't see any problem with it. Women mature faster than men anyway (Lil) so theoretically a 25 yo woman and a 34 yo man are only about 4 years apart mentally. (smile)

Not when you are 25 and 34. But hey 12 and 21 to 16 and 25. That's just wrong and someone needs to go to jail.
