I've been in broadcasting for 12 years now and that is a good place to start, working or volunteering at your local Radio Station or TV Station. I've done voice-over for radio, TV and cartoons. I've also hosted radio and TV shows.
From inside the industry it's a lot easier to meet the people that can get you the gigs or connect you to the people that can.

These days it might be tough for an unknown to get into that business. It seems like all the washed-up t.v. stars are doing voice-overs now.

That's interesting, I was searching for good voices for our productions..
but this depends where you're located .. as you know this career is extremely rare .. and most poeple do not appriciate this kind of talent..
maybe if you specified your location I would have helped you more ..
