This amusing observation is made to make a serious point. Doris Stokes (now deceased), and other so called 'mediums' make money out of people's misery. I lost my husband to cancer, and despite the fact that I'd really like to hear from him, I believe that mediums are just charlatans. Your views?

Too right!! It's all cryptic nonsense as if all spirits can only communicate in riddles. Like the mediums starts saying stuff llike, 'i sense a teapot in a cupboard' or 'a name beginning with J'.

"Look love, if you're that good just give me their f~kin full name, address and date of birth!!!"

But thats never goining to happen. Con artists the lot of them

Sorry you feel that way, but Doris is still working, I am a medium and the work i have done has helped a lot of people I don't believe in charging lots of money, and yes you are right in thinking there are cons out there, some see in as a good way to earn money. Your Husband will come to you when he is ready, and when you’re ready. If you do seek out a medium go for someone who has been recommended to you, not one on line or out of the paper, if they ask you a question, only answer yes or no, do not allow yourself to tell them more than you should.
I have in the past done very good reading, or so I'm told via e-mail, I don't do these now because I didn't charge for them and it took up a lot of my time, but this gave proof to the person i was reading that I was not mind reading, and what they cal as cold reading i had nothing more than a photo, and a name.
I can tell you this, and please you don't have to believe me, but when you get the chance sit down and think about the place where you live, have you been to busy to notice little things that have been happening around the home, things going missing, then turning up, or a light bulb keep going out, on coming on, your husband may be there with you and you have been to busy to notice, just try what i have said, and all I ask of you is don't treat us all the same, and keep an open mind, life after death, spirit world contacting the spirit world can not be proved either way, no matter what someone will say on here no one can prove it does not exist, but it does.

Love & Peace, and May you find Happiness

I honestly didn't get a chance to watch these matches concerned so might not have full insights. Sehwag had no reason to withdraw his appeal, he was within full rights. It was completely in the spirit of the game, what the batsman was trying to do was not. No need for a warning either by the bowler. If the batsman doesn't want to get out then stay in the crease. If it was clear he was running to make a run and then when saw that he might be out. Raises his hands that he has an injury then he should be given out. But there is also benefit of the doubt, he actually might have pulled something or genuine injury. If he is injured not likely he will dive its stupid. Hussey is not the kind of player from his record who would try something funny. He is a trustworthy player. Intentionally or unintentionally bowlers should not stand in the middle. Batsmen need to run to score, so they should be off the pitch immediately. I don't know what the circumstances were, but if bowler is on the pitch a rule should be made batsman shall not be given out. Bowlers should be of the pitch. Its batsman's right not the bowlers. With his hands on the hips what was he doing standing there in the first place? Umpires should admonish such bowlers regardless of who it is. I don't know about the rest of the circumstances, but it is being suggested Tendulkar didn't even bother ground his bat. And with or without Lee standing there he would've been out. This law should be clarified now IMO regardless. That if bowler intentionally or unintentionally stands on the pitch hindering the batsman. The batsman shall not be given out. I always hate that.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I would not encourage someone to spend money on visiting a medium... or if they were desperate to do so, I would ask them to treat it like a visit to Las Vegas: allow themselves a set amount, for "entertainment" purposes, and forbid themselves to spend more. That would help them avoid the con artists, and heaven knows there are con artists out there!

That said--I do think some of the mediums out there have got an ability to do something. So far I've never seen a skeptic showing me the "cold reading" technique that seemed anywhere near as realistic as some of the stuff I've seen, say, John Edward do. His books, and Sylvia Browne's and James van Praagh's, all give positive, healing explanations of the afterlife--I know they've comforted my mom after the loss of my dad. That, I don't see as preying on anybody.

So--those people who take hundreds, even thousands of dollars from grieving relatives? They are downright evil. But some of the better known authors/readers I personally wouldn't call charlatans.

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your husband.

Unfortunately there are many charlatans out there, however I also know there are many gifted mediums out there too. I am developing my mediumship, have worked in Spiritualist Churches, but haven't, as yet, charged for one to one sittings. This is for a number of reasons, I don't feel developed enough to charge, I work full time as a nurse, which kind of pays the bills. Plus I am so involved with my church that I really don't have time.

I have many friends that are working mediums, and charge for readings, but they are in no way, shape or form living the "high life" because of this, most work as well, because it is so hard to make a living from it. Many find it difficult to charge for a sitting, but if they are taking time off work, or working less hours so they can do sittings, well bills have to be paid...

I hope that in time you will hear from your husband, whether it will be from a medium, or some other way. How and when this happens know this, all those that we love who pass before us, are safe, well and happy, and that love we share will never die.

Mediums are charlatans. What they do is pick up vibes from people. Example of this I see a man why? you got wedding ring or your age. Sorry to hear about your husband. He say something about the name I think its M then the sitter is nervous and the Medium pick this up. Sorry the dead are dead let them rest in peace.

Hi Shona L

My dad dies nearly three years ago. He was very sick with a terminal ilness. The final days of his life he was talking about the fact he wanted to catch up with his mum and his brother. And thats all he talked about. All of us kids (there are 6 and we are all adults of varying ages 30 - 40 and all educated to varying degrees). The day before he passed away I felt realy happy and carefree as if I was going on a trip. I was singing a couple of dads favourite songs including a favourite of his called "I am going back to where I come from". I had to remind myself that I was not going anywhere of significance and still I felt light hearted and free. at 7 the next morning mom rang to tell me that dad ghad died at 5.15 that morning. Now I have a clock with a picture of my son as a baby on it on my night stand and it stopped at 5.15. My sister rang me that day and told me when she heard the news that she had thought "poor dad what will become of him? and got a very clear answer back "we have him" in her mind.

The next few months all of us reported that we had had experiences of dad speaking with us in dreams or in my sisters case she actually heard him play his harmonica to her but when she went to investigate it stopped. My pet name that my dad called my was Lucy and when I was in a shopping mall I had this urge to go to the public notices where people advertise things and there was a advert for a lost dog called "hello lucy".

It has been believed for 100's of years that the dead return in spirit and lets us know they are there in lots of subtle ways. Because spirits are energy they communicate through electricity. I asked dad alound once if you are here make a light globe explode and several went off that week, the house was new and all the globes had been replaced a couple of weeks before.

You need to look out for subtle signs - you might hear a song that he liked, or read a poem. THe lyriks of a song might be in your head and they might have some significance. the constant barking of your dog or the agitation of your animals might signal he is there in spirit. Spirits communicate through so many signs. Keep a look out. When my dad was cremated I stood at a pond and said a prayer and my partner was squinting and could of sworn he saw a old guy in a hat of the 30's walking by out of the corner of his eye and then it was gone..................my dad wore hats and the clothes he described were waht my dad was dressed in at his cremation.............

You might be on the bus and notice something of significance on a bill board. My dad loved the 202 rifle as he had learnt to shoot in the army. After he was cremated my family went to a favourite place and got some fish and chips. THe guy called out their number for their order and it was 202....................
