I have a purple lily on my right ankle, it's pretty and all, but I want my next tatoo to MEAN something..here are my thoughts..
My Gramma was my best friend, she died 7 years ago...her lifelong nickname was"chick", EVERYONE called her that... I used to tell her all the time that she "was my favorite rose"(dont ask, I was a lil kid) Anyway, I'm thinking about getting a baby chick with a single rose in her beak with my Gramma's initials underneath..either on my left ankle or the underneath of my forearm, a few inches above my "elbow pit"
OR
A flowery ankle bracelet but with my 3 kids names as the stems/vines..preferably in their own handwriting..
So, do these sound okay or are they completely cheesy? THANX for your input..

My boys are 13 and 11, my daughter is 6..I think she has better handwriting than either of them.. HaHa..and no, no more kids, took care of that while I was in the hospital having the last one!!

I have a few tatt's myself and I can tell you this nothing is stupid if it means something to you. The one for your grandma is great I love it and the one for your kids is cute. I would advise to get your Gram's tatt first, below your "elbow pit". Do you plan on having anymore kids? If you do you might wanna wait till you have any other before you exclude any bundle of joy... So just give your children's that a couple of years, if your kids are young get their hand writing now so you can preserve their lil hand writing..

Personally I wouldn't go with the edward scissorhands or even one on your ribcage. The one you already have is cute, don't get something that would take away from it. Also, may I ask how much it hurt to get your tattoo on your ribcage? I am getting one on mine and january and I hear it's almost unbearable.

I like the ankle bracelet idea. i have a rose on my ankle, with the thorny vines circling my ankle, then a "ribbon" or banner type piece thru the vines with my 3 kids names on it.
for your gramma, i would put a little basket with a baby chick in it and her initials on it, with a long stem rose laying beside it.

Bec they have meaning to you either one is good. I dont like the places you want to put the chick one though. I would put it on my back or something not on my arm or ankle for that one. I really like the ankle one with the kids names. I have my kids names on me and I love it. I want more too but it has to have a meaning also. I understand what you mean. I like both so do both :)

The best tattoo ideas are what's in your heart. Both are great ideas. I wouldn't do the forearm thing though. Go for the ankle.
