I really enjoyed The Stand. Because it is possible that a virus could be released into the air that would kill most of the population. I have read it twice. SciFi is going to be airing the movie this Sunday. The movies are never as good as the books, but the movie The Stand comes close.

My favorite is the final book in the Dark Tower series. As for his other works I love The Shining, The Dead Zone and The Stand. His early novels are best. Also loved The Green Mile. I have read a few of the stories in Nightmares and Dreamscapes and I don't think they are his best work. They are not as good as Night Shift or Everything's Eventual.

The Stand....absolutely brilliant and written when the author was at his best! The characters, the settings; superb!
Just about the only novel King wrote that was turned into an absolutely pathetic movie!

I have two favourite ones: "The green mile" and "Dolores Claiborne". Even though they're both highly plotted and involving, I like them the same for different reasons.
"Dolores Claiborne" is a very nasty novel, and I found no difficulties putting myself in Dolores' shoes on account of her frankness and informal style: I like hers most. "The green mile", on the other hand, has very peculiar characters, such as the mysterious and enormous John Coffey, the evil William Warton, which I found more interesting than "Dolores Claiborne" 's.

Like you... I've loved them all. But if I had to choose. The Stand. And is it okay if I pick the entire Dark Tower Series? Also The Running Man is excellent.

Mine was definitely the Talisman.I skipped school 2 days in a row as a freshman to read it. I read it again a couple years ago and it still holds the same magic.

The green mile, because it doesn't deal with how a girl got her period in the shower, it deals with immortality.
