How old is your cd player? I have had this happen before, but the player was pretty old (2 years +). I just throw it in the trash and buy a new one. Trying to get something like that repaired cost way too much.

If I understand correctly your question, no cd player in a computer has come up with a cd since the company who created the cd player has not knowledge of what music do you like.

It could be that the disc and/or laser lens need cleaning. Another could be that the information on the cd may be in a format that your player doesn't recognise (i.e. mp3 format). Older models can't read mp3s.

either the disc is dirty or scratched or the laser in ur cd player needs cleaning or replacing

May be the player does not support MP3 format cds, or pirated cds.

Could be the laser is not reading the disk so thinks there is no disc. Or the disk could be scratched and the laser can not read it properly.

Either the lens in the machine needs replacing (goes out of focus) or the laser has packed up.
