I couldn't tell you the salary that year, but I could tell you about Vince Ferragamo's salary. After the 1979 season (the Rams led but lost the Super Bowl 31-19 to the Steelers) and the 1980 season (an NFL leading 30 touchdowns), he asked for a raise on his _US$52,000_ salary and was refused.
He went to the CFL for one season (the Montreal Allouettes paid him C$450,000, or US$380,000 at that time) but he couldn't adjust to facing six defensive backs on every play and was hammered. He returned to the inferior NFL and played a few more seasons with playoff success. Ferragamo's key teammate in Montreal was David Overstreet, if that takes you back.
I was kidding about the "inferior" bit, for those with no sense of humour....
