Well the cenozoic period is the age mammals us included. It is between now and 65 millions years ago.It includes the Tertiary and Quaternary era.

The Mesozoic era is beetween 225 millions years till 65 years ago. The age of reptiles; yes including the dinosours. It contains Triassic Jurassic and Cretaceous period. Triassic period was when Pangea broke up. We also had a mass extincion then. We also had another extintion in the Cretaceous the killed off the dinosours.
