Switching to synthetic in an engine with that many miles is a bad idea.
The time to use synthetic is when the engine is new. As was mentioned, synthetic is "slipperier" and there is a fair chance you will have oil leaks from old brittle gaskets and things as the synthetic works its way through your engine.
There is no point in spending the money for synthetic on a car with 164,000 miles anyway, unless it has used synth since it was new. Just keep changing the oil every 3-5k they way you have been with the Castrol and you'll be fine.

Because synthetic oil has less deposits to it, y ou'll need to change over in stages. The next oil change, use 1 quart Synthetic to *guessing* 3 quarts regular... Next oil change 2 synthetic, and so on.
The reason for this is that dino oil will leave 'sludge' around the engine... if you changed completely to synthetic, it could loosen the sludge and clog up something important (like an oil passageway) and then... well, it wouldn't be good.

No it would not hurt it. But since you have had good luck running Castrol why change now for the added expense of synthetic? Save your money, change your oil every 3000 miles and keep on rolling!

It won't hurt the Honda, yet how your wallet will feel afterward is another question. Just use a 15/40 multigrade at that mileage and change oil and filter every 6 months

Don't do it. You will experience leaks in places that you didn't know were places. The synthetic is more slippery and thin, allowing it to escape readily.
