I think the Best player in the league deserves to be honored yearly.
The MVP award has become an interpretation of the voter as to what an MVP is to them.
I think the Most Outstanding Player should recieve an award regaurdless of their teams standing. It should be voted on Strictly by looking at the statistics.

I kinda hear you there should be some sort of recognition for being the sh*t. But basketball is a team sport and an award for a player with the best overall numbers kinda goes against the team comcept. They do give acknowledgments though for leaders in every stastitical category. Plus scoring can misleading, if a guy scores 30 a game but takes like 50 shots, is that good?

The should give an award called "The Sh*t Award in the And One League!

No....there are already players who don't understand the concept of teamwork, (remember the Shaq & Kobe break-up)...the last thing you want is an award that would place the emphasis on individual play...I appreciate that the NBA has always placed a premium on players enjoying (winning) success, but not at the expense of making the team worse for it....if you are a great player you bring your teammates with you and as the saying goes you make everyone around you better and that usually translates into winning....
