A book can be any written work. It may be learned, it may be a simple reading primer, it may be fact or fiction. It doesn't have to be of any particular length to qualify for the title book, as in the Bible the Book of Jude is only one chapter long!
A novel has been defined by E.M. Forster in his "Aspects of the Novel" as being the telling of a story. "Oh, dear me yes, the novel tells a story."

A novel can be a book and a book can be a novel. A novel is made up.....a book can be fact or fiction. Some novels are very long.....some are very short. Some books are extremely long and some are very very short. The majority of novels lie in the 250 to 550 page length. 340 words to a page is the norm.

Same thing! A "book" can be considered a novel and a novel is usually called a "book" The distinction is usually the "length" of the story. A book can be any length but a novel is usually more than 400 pages.

A novel is a type of book; it's a fiction story. It is a term that refers to the content of a book.
A book is a physical object - the paper part - and the word has no direct link to the content within it.
For example, "A Guide to Mathematics" would be a book, but not a novel because it is a handbook. "The Da Vinci Code" is a novel because it is a story (fiction).
The number of words does not define a book; it's the physical structure that defines it. So a short story in a book is not a book in and of itself, but if it were published on its own then it would be. Childrens' books are a prime example of books that have a small word count.

A novel is a type of book. A book is literally a binding with pages that has words or pictures in it. There are different types of books: histories, autobiographies, cookbooks, and novels are one of these types. Novels are stories, usually one hundred pages or longer (shorter is considered a story or a novella) and is untrue or only loosely based on fact. It is a work of fiction and is usually filed in the fiction or literature section.

A Novel is a work of fiction, and it is also abook, maybe you are confused with the terms novel, play and (short)story, which are terms that define lenght but also a type of writing. A novel is a book based on fictional events, a play is a playwright's work and a short story can be a book also, but its lenght is shorter than the others, Hope to have been of service... Good Luck!

A novel is a work of fiction. A book can be anything. It has nothing to do with the amount of words.
