I am on a birth control shot, so I dont have a period. Lately I have put on some extra pounds, I excercise everyday and eat healthy, so I am confused about this weight. Also My breast have been swollen and very sore. COuld it be possible that I am pregnant, or am I just being paranoid?

This has been going on for about 3 weeks. I have gained about 13 lbs and my breasts are AT LEAST a cup size bigger!

Your doctor is always there for any questions that you need medical answers...But I would say you are safe.

If the shot is Depo.. if taken/used properly it stops the whole cycle..therefore you are not ovulating and can not get pregnant. My shot sometimes would "play tricks" on me, but I knew because I had no cycle I had no pregnancy problems. Also, weight gain is a normal side effect of the shot.

You don't mention how long you have been on the shot, but I suspect that it is possibly side effects from that, such as the bloating, breast tenderness that can happen before your menstrual cycle. If these symptoms don't go away within 2 or 3 days, you may want to get a pregnancy test, since stranger things have happened!! Either way, I would let your doctor know, even if it's just side effects. If they continue to be bothersome, you may want to look at an alternative birth control method. Good Luck!

Of course the answer is to go see your ob/gyn. If you aren't pregnant, then it could just be side effects from the shot. Ask your doctor about other birth control options. (There are tons!) But I have to say the swollen and sore breasts do tend to be a sign of pregnancy, but that also happens when your breasts grow. But I wouldn't panic until I knew for sure.

if you have a missed period, that is a sign of being pregnant. the symptoms nausea, tenderness in breasts, food cravings(which explain your weight gain)fatigue and bloating,to name the ones you mentioned. best way to be sure is buy a pregnancy test and check. if you are pregnant, you'll need to do the following: 1.check for health coverage and options 2.consult a prenatal provider for the first prenatal visit 3.avoid alcohol, drugs and tobacco 4.drink lots of water 5.rest when necessary these are steps to what is needed to do to prepare if pregnant

Start out with a home pregnancy test...if it says negative...then the symptoms are "shot related" you'll need to decide if the symptoms are something you can live with... if it's positive...then you should probably be talking to a Dr.

YES it can happen, got pregnant for our third child while on the patch...sooooo...
