The earth spins around and around, and makes something called gravity from the core. Gravity radiates in a circle around earth, so anywhere you are, you feel like you are standing straight up. And you are, because, in the universe, which way is up, right? Gravity is the answer, my friend.

The force of gravity is directed towrd the center of the spheroid, and so is practically the same over the entire surface of the globe.
Also, the idea that the South Pole is the "bottom" is arbitrary, and a consequence of map malers originally coming from the norther hemisphere. It is just as logical to speak of the North Pole as the "bottom".

North and South is totally arbitrary - Space doesn't have an "up" or "down!" True, the Earth is oriented up/down with regards to polarity - I mean, magnetic currents (or something) all head one direction, but this switches every so often, and I think right now they're actually heading south. I think - I don't know, I think it's counter-intuitive because I remember having trouble with that in geology class.
The real answer's gravity. Reckon you know that by now, though. Well, cheers!

Antartica is at the bottom of the Earth, but Gravity is always attractive. You are constantly pulled towards the center of Earth. Same reason that the people on the equator don't fall sideways.

The force of gravity between you and the earth acts towards the centre of the earth. The direction in the same direction as gravity is felt as 'down' and the opposite direction as 'up'.

It is because the gravity will always pull people towards the center of the Earth (notice not towards the "south" of the Earth).

Hey there!
I think the answer lies somewhere in the term "gravity", but i'm not really sure if that is true! I've been wearing sticky boots all my life, just to make sure ;)
