I know we live in a wealthy country and have many, many provisions that other countries don't have. But I feel under such pressure and sometimes feel like retreating to a cave.

I have just retreated to a cave in New Zealand from my previous cave in Cheshire. I'd say what's difficult about Blighty these days is dodging the yobs at any given hour, staying on top of car insurance premiums (£107 a month for a 96 Volvo 850! Is this mad or what?), and spending less than four hours a day commuting.

Kind of depends what class you are in. But compared to so many others life is pretty easy in comparison. Well I'm still alive that's a start isn't it. You have to hope nothing happens to electricity because it would be all over for us.

It's a nightmare. Especially financially. But I'd rather be here that say, living in the middle of a rain forest eating insects.

Personally I find my life pretty straight forward. I think a lot of people make things difficult for themselves, other are dealt a really bad hand. For me it's all worth it.

Working hours are long, housing is expensive, weather is often bleak, down time is spent in the pub. It's worth it though.
