Wire size and voltage I'm not sure...but when we had our hot tub installed, we had to get a special 50 amp breaker put into our circuit box for it.

Playing with electricity should be left to the experts. The amp draw (that's what makes the wire hot) and distance of the wire run will give you the size wire and breaker to use. But, when making the connection to the breaker box you have to know how to connect for the 110 or 240 volts. Save yourself a trip to the emergency room or worse. Call an electrician.

You received a lot of good answers.Where are you buying the pump? If you're getting it from a local supply house. They can let you know what size pump to get,& probably give you pointers on how to wire it

Lois is correct. You could have a 120V or a 240V pump hookup,
You have to check your unit for information. A 240V hookup will
require a double breaker. (two 120V lines - one from each side
of your breaker box as they have to be 180 deg out of phase.
