My daughter had hpv..Yes i would have had her vaccinated if it was avaible 6 or 7 years ago..Your pretty much right on with 80% of the women having it...Its linked with Cerivcal Cancer..Its takes almost a year to get rid of it, In my daughters case anyhow, she went thru several biopsy's and Cryo therapy(freezing the bad cells off the Cervix) and then after Cryo it was gone..

Actually, those rates pretty much match the rest of the adult population in the US. So, this is pretty prevalent. HPV can cause abnormalities in cells that lead to cervical cancer. Unfortunately, these abnormalities often go unchecked because many things in a pap smear can make the results 'abnormal', even a faulty reading. Even before these cells are cancerous, they require biopsies for detection and even surgery for removal.
Yes, I would want my daughter to be vaccinated considering the prevalence, difficulty of detection and consequences even if the virus never leads to cancer.

Well, the Human Papilloma Virus is pretty common. It is linked to ovarian cancer which, from what I understand is usually fatal. If this can be prevented before its ever an issue, why not do it. This is one more step that can help save lives. I have a daughter, and if she decides to be vaccinated I am all for it.
