Ever notice that being a wise man and a wise guy are two different things? At any rate, true wisdom in these days is rare. This is an age of information and of knowledge. We can find facts and figures on pretty much any subject in the world. Just knowing these things doesn't help much. Yes, knowledge is power; power can be misused. True wisdom lies in the one who knows how to use the knowledge that he has. Wisdom is the way to focus the power of knowledge in a way that cannot be used against our fellow man, but to help humanity. It is said in the Bible that knowledge puffs up (or increases pride) but wisdom builds up. Wisdom is rare, rarer than gold or precious jewels.

With age comes wisdom mainly because you learn from your mistakes and you learn not make bigger ones that may not be in your best interest.

I don't know if there are a lot of wise people in the world mainly because I haven't been all over the world. I would also say that every one is at difference pace in their maturity mainly because some people may not have grown up in some areas.

I do not agree with the idea that you get wiser with age. That is more often untrue than it is true. For example, I see far too many older people who are bigots because they refuse to learn from their mistakes and the mistakes of those before them. I realize the ineffectiveness of arguing a point based on my personal experiences, however my perception is my reality. The difference between someone who is smart and someone who is wise is this... A smart man believes that he knows the answer to every question. A wise man knows that he has the answers to only a few of lifes questions. Wise men continue to learn over a lifetime and are rarely satisfied with one answer to a question. The wisest men, in my opinion, realize that in fact they know nothing.

I believe their are alot of wise people in the world, my grandmother is a wise woman and she knows everything, she hears everything and of course she know her children and grandchildren very well. She never forget anything, god bless her, I will always miss her smile. I really think there is alot of wise old people or young people that lives in United States or any where else they might be. Maybe next door, or in the city.

it incredibly is a puzzling conundrum, you're appropriate. Christians could be wealthy and have ability, however the greater ability the greater temptation. A stated demonologist gave an interview the place he stated that the Enemy strikes maximum profoundly at people who've the flexibility to do the main good - ie, the effective. there is a few controversy relating to the resurgence recently of the so-stated as "Gospel of Wealth" - that God needs you to be wealthy and effective. This builds on an thought from John Calvin (however not embraced with the aid of all Calvinists) that God rewards His favorites, and once you're effective, God might desire to love you. A greater Orthodox rigidity of thought is that existence is a era of guidance for everlasting existence, and as such worldly suffering is seen as a blessing. it incredibly is to not say that people who impoverish themselves for the dominion are not concern to temptation - Saint Anthony, who lived as a bad hermit interior the desolate tract, in many cases recorded being attacked with the aid of demons in his sleep - however the greater you have, the better it incredibly is to remember upon your self. there's a place for the wealthy - and that they are to be benefactors, to furnish for the Church as nicely as for the undesirable. Likewise there's a place for the politically effective, and that's to communicate the certainty and get up for the oppressed. you will possibly be able to discover the link under exciting - only something I examine presently.

This would obviously depend on your creteria for being wise. Garrison Keillor said "Half the people you meet are below average". That would make the other half of us above average, except for that ONE poor sap in the middle. So, yeah, I guess there are over 3 billion wise people in the world.
