In the morning, I have to go to the bathroom so badly. I sleep too soundly to wake up in the night. However, when I go, my bladder will not release for a very long time, and then it is very slow to empty. Does this sound like a bladder infection? What can I do ( without drugs) to help?

It's natural for you to have to go badly in the morning when you're pregnant, especially if you've been holding it all night. I had to go all the time thoughout both pregnancies. Sometimes it's not releasing because your muscles are very tight from holding it so long. Just take a minute and try to relax so your muscles will loosen a bit. Try using relaxation breathing as you're sitting there, in through your nose, out through your mouth, and see if that helps. This will be the same type of breathing you'll learn when you take your childbirth classes. Good luck to you and congratulations!

Sounds like a bladder infection. You will have to be treated with antibiotics. These meds are safe during pregnancy. I have had two bladder infections this pregnancy. They are certainly not fun and quite uncomfortable but left untreated it will cause major problems. Call your ob right away. In these cases they will almost always work you in immediately so that you can be diagnosed and treated.

Go see the doctor or Go see the doctor BUT it does NOT seem like a bladder infection that has the opposite effect...(one can't hold the pee...Good luck.
