If I were you I would stick with IE 6. I downloaded IE7 a few weeks ago and had nothing but problems. My computer was slower and I kept getting a message 2 or 3 times a day telling me that IE7 was experiencing a problem and needed to close. Then it gave me the option of sending an error report, which I did.It would then close and I would reopen it,it would be fine for a while then all of a sudden it would do the same thing again.I just went back to IE6 and as of yet I have had no problems. And my computer is faster again.

If you prefer to use a different web browser, you can obtain updates from the Microsoft Download Center or you can stay up to date with the latest critical and security updates by using Automatic Updates. To turn on Automatic Updates:
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Depending on which Control Panel view you use, Classic or Category, do one of the following:
Click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
Click Performance and Maintenance, click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
Click the option that you want. Make sure Automatic Updates is not turned off.

Try going directly to the Microsoft update page and get a couple at a time. Sometimes certain update require to be install separately. Of course if your windows is not genuine you have a problem that can only be fixed by getting a genuine copy of windows.

Yeah that normally happens to me too. Try restarting your computer and clear the cache files. That might help. Or sometimes you may have too many program running while the updates are installing. During the installation, make sure no other program are running.

you can try going to http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/update/bulletins/200612.mspx and downloading them. I had install problems on updates also. I went to the microsoft help desk for my problem and was told that if I had framework "2" downloaded to uninstall it, try downloading the updates, and then to reinstall frame work "2". Frame work 2 is mostly used to veiw designer's programs or make them work on the PC because they designed their program to work with frame work 2. We all have frame work 1 in our PC's so if this is the case with your pc, uninstall frame work 2, update, then reinstall frame work 2 from the offical microsoft site. Good luck. Mikie.
