What is the 6KB of 'non-volatile' memory used for in each Wii-mote controller?

It's too small for game saves, no? Is it just a sound buffer?

it allows you to transport up to 10 miis to another wii console, so you can use your own mii, and have your own stats from say wii sports at your friends house. refer to the instruction manual for complete instructions

it holds the Mii data and "non-volatile" memory is flash memory.
