I'm not talking about on-line where you can play co-op with players all over the world, i want to know whether you can have two players in the same room playing co-operatively on a split screen?

Yes it is! Also, Ensemble Studios (the people who made Age Of Empires) are making a game called Halo Wars (an RTS game) which is on the XBOX360 only

yes.. like the past two games. the main focus on the halo series is multiplayer! whether it be online or split screen!
