I found out I was pregnant a month ago. And my history is very scary... see my mother and father both are twins. I also had a grandpa who was a twin and an uncle who had a twin. Twins run in my family as you can tell. I have not had an ultrasound yet, I go tuesday, what I am wondering is ... I had to go back to the doctor just a few days ago because I am sick, with my sinuses, and they put me on the scales like they always do... well I had gained 10 pounds in a months. I cried of course. I have read that when you gain a lot in the first month that it could be a sign for twins. I already have a pooch and my cloths DON'T FIT. Do you think it could be possible? Only thing is that I haven't been sick at all! Not vomitted one time while I have been pregnant. I would think if it was twins that I would be extra sick. What is your opinion?

Fraternal twins are the type that run in families. They run on the MOTHER's side. Identical are luck of the draw.
So if you have fraternal twins on your side of the family your chances are higher.

It depends with the whole sickness thing it would be a blessing to have twins sometimes you have to gain a little weight just to support the pregnancy they run thick in my family too but the male carries the gene just have them look extra close on the u/s I am only on my 15th week and I've gained 30 lbs (I was underweight to begin with)

It's certainly possible that you are pregnant with twins and not all women who are pregnant with twins have exaggerated symptoms.

you never know with this stuff. I'd just sit tight and see what the dr's say. you should be going to hear a heart beat soon and they may be able to tell you then what is in your belly!
