Video games do not make people do bad things, but it encourages people who already have the potential to do wrong.

Well first of all people have a tendency to "lump" all things together, this is some of the basis for racism and bigotry. In the case of video games there are some which center around senseless violence in somewhat real situations such as the "grand theft" series were you are encouraged to steal and murder for the sake of the game. I don't believe that everyone that plays games like these will become a violent maniac, however if someone with out a good sense of good and evil plays, it may reinforce the feeling that being violent is an acceptable way to live.

Video games are not bad. It's people that take the video games too seriously. LOL@people letting a video game influence them to shoot somebody.

Today's games have too few layers of distortion. This means that in some cases they are glorifying realistic violence and crime. This isn't a problem for a person who has the maturity and wisdom to differentiate between fact and fiction, however in the hands of a young child they are unacceptable. In that case though I don't believe it far to blame the game as the child did not purchase the game, and did not permit themselves to play it.
The biggest issue with games are that they are being played by people who are not yet mature enough to process the violence, sex, blood, gore, and criminal aspects. They are rated, and should only be played by age appropriate persons.
Would you let your 5 year old watch natural born killers?

you cant really blame it on the games, the person has to have a flaw to begin with, but the games could bring it out of them. You have to be half crazy to play those games for hours on end anyway, people that dont have a life and other things to do than go shoot people.

video games can be bad because kids don't get any exercise just sitting there playing those games, and there is a huge problem in this country with overweight kids and people

It easier to blame things than take blame yourself i hate when that happen when they blame music or something how about bad parenting...how about not listening to a child need when they call how about rejecting someone because of their identity, no one seem to want to take the blame anymore

it's not the video game it's self, but an indicator of what type of behavior you might hold. if you are bipolar, it could lead to a negitive out come.
any thing complusive, ANYTHING, is not a good, trait
