I have a friend who is pregnant. She did not have a steady boyfriend and was sleeping around. She was not on any type of birth control. She knew that birth control was available for free at the local health department. When ever I tried to talk to her about it she said, "Well if it happens, it happens." meaning getting pregnant. She has been living in a house with a male friend (whom she has never had sexual relations). Both names are on the lease and the male roommate does not think that he is ready to live with a pregnant woman. What happen in this situation? Am I supposed to feel sorry for her when she knew that this could happen? Why are so many young women today letting this happen when it is most certainly preventable? I believe that it is rather unfair for a college student (male or female) to get pregnant and then feel like their family, the world and the government (like tuition and housing assistance) owes them something while other hard working poor students can barely get by. Is getting knocked up an answer to my financial problems??

Just so you all know I am a female. No sir that is not what they teach us in college now. I want intelligent answers not insults from the elderly.

I beg to differ. I will make an excellent mother one day when I graduate from college and am ready for it. Not to mention the focus of my study has been on child development. Have you ever heard of sarcasm?

yeah, my cousin, a female, rants about that. She is putting herself thru grad school, barely scraping by in a one room apartment, and all her friends from back home are knocked up and on welfare. She knows that she will get the last laugh, when she graduates and gets a high paying job, and if she has kids she will be able to raise them with privileges and not perpetuate the cycle.

Well think your contribution was enough to feel sorry & as was her's.But that just won't bring any solution to the problem.U need to talk to her and find a way out. After all she needs to be cared at this stage.Hope both of u get out of this at earliest.

Hi,

No, because you sound like you might not make a very good mother because with you it would be all about solving your financial problems.

Stay on the birth control and try and win the Lotto or something.

no, you are not supposed to feel sorry for her, getting knocked up could be the answer to your financial problems if that is the type of person you are/want to be.

Nowadays you are supposed to feel sorry for anyone and everyone that made bad choices in there life, it's all a bunch of crap if you ask me they made their bed they can lie in it. I am sick of all these do gooders whining about compassion. Screw them.
